1st BBBS  Halton Hot Ride Show 'N Shine - Big success!

Over 150 participants and supporters came together on June 15th at Philthy McNasty’s Sports Pub in Oakville for the inaugural BBBS of Halton Hot Ride Show ‘N’ Shine presented by The Stolen Souls Motorcycle Club.  This extraordinary event raising over $9000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton mentoring programs! 

We received tremendous support from “Jelley”, “Tank”, “Cricket” and of course the rest of the crew.  The event also drew numerous supporters from the community and we are thrilled to have been a part of this amazing event.  We can’t wait for next year!

 Thanks to everyone who participated in Enviromental Awareness Day

Tim Hortons, the Oakville Chamber of Commerce, Kerr Village BIA, M&M Meats and other partners presented a cheque to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton.

 The cheque represents proceeds from the 5th Annual Environmental Awareness Day held at Tim Hortons, 111 Cross Ave in July.

Celebrating 100 Years of Mentoring

Canada’s largest mentoring organization is turning 100 and is celebrating with a year-long public education campaign to give Canadians fresh insights into the societal value of youth mentoring.

To mark the launch of this national effort, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) are releasing the first results of one of the largest mentoring studies ever conducted.

Oakville Beaver Article - Bowl for Kids Sake

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton (BBBSH) is celebrating 100 years of helping children — and is asking for support with one of its annual and most popular fundraisers.  
Tim Hortons local franchisees are title sponsors of the annual bowling fundraiser. The support from local Tim Hortons storeowners plays a huge role in the success of the event each year.  Honourary hosts for 2013 events include Oakville Tim Hortons Store owners and MPP Kevin Flynn.
Currently more than 100 children are waiting for a Big Brother or Sister.

Bowling a strike for kids' sake

The Tim Hortons annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton (BBBSH took place last weekend and raised more than $19,000 for the cause.

The event was hosted by Tim Hortons’ Oakville stores and Oakville MPP Kevin Flynn at Classic Bowl in Mississauga.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton held its 25th Annual Bonspiel on Saturday, February 23rd at the Oakville Curling Club.

Thanks to all our sponsors, donors, participants, pledgers and the Oakville Curling Club.  We raised $40,000 for our kids in our mentoring programs!

Oakville, Milton Real Estate Board Donates 

At the Oakville, Milton Real Estate Board Christmas Luncheon and Annual General Meeting, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton was presented with a cheque for $3,000  from Oakville, Milton Real Estate Board President, Michele Gaboury.  Realtors play an important role in our success.  Realtors act as both volunteer mentors and provide financial support.  In fact, an Oakville Realtor recently provided funding so that 10 children could experience the unique sport of Dragon Boating

Barb was one of the latest recepients of a Paul Harris Fellowship award, presented by the Rotary Club of Oakville Trafalgar.  The award is presented to members of the Rotary club or members of the community who volunteer their time and talents to their community.

Littles had a hauntingly good time

Our Bigs and Littles had an A-MAZE-ing time at this year's Halloween Haunt at Terra Conservation area.  The event included a haunted wagon rides, a spooky hay bale maze, story telling, a bonfire and more

Thanks to the Oakville Community Foundation ftheir continued support of our Group Recreation Program which provided the opportunity for our Bigs and Littles to attend this event.
